Neymar to Barcelona: PSG star addresses Nou Camp return rumours

NEYMAR has moved to deny reports that he could be set for an incredible return to Barcelona.

The Paris-Saint Germain star cost £198m when he moved to Paris from Barca in 2017, a world-record fee.

Since then, his time in France has been plagued with reports of unhappiness, poor morale, dressing room bust-ups, and rumours of a return to Spain.

Real Madrid are apparently keen on taking him back to Spain, and are plotting a mega-money move for the Brazilian.

However, in recent weeks it has emerged that the superstar has sensationally asked for a return to Barcelona.

The forward is reportedly unhappy in France and regrets his move, as he longs to be back playing alongside his close friends Lionel Messi and Gerard Pique.

Reports circulated this week that Neymar had agreed with PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi, that he can leave the club in the summer if a fee of £193m is paid.

Spanish media then reported that the deal was not impossible, and that a deal could be put together over the coming months to bring Neymar back.

The Brazil star has now moved to deny these reports, in a post from his official site’s Instagram page.

The post included a gif of Neymar rubbing his eyes in disbelief, as a series of newspaper reports are branded ‘fake news’ behind him.

Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde spoke today regarding the potential of Neymar coming back.

Whilst he appeared to distance himself from any of these reports, he admitted that a deal is possible.

“I coached Neymar for two weeks,” he said.

Any time is good to speculate, but Neymar plays for another team now.

“It’s speculation, we’re not in the market at the moment or looking short term, but anything can happen in football.”

The vice-president of the club then admitted that the possibility of a transfer had not been discussed by the club.

No one on the Barca board has talked about the possibility of bringing back Neymar,” Jordi Cardoner said.

“Right now we can't give an answer because no one has even mentioned it.

“He was the one who left. It would be different if we hadn't believed in him [and let him leave] and now we wanted to bring him back, but that's not the case.”
