Tekashi laughs off claims of a budding Bi-Coastal rap rivalry.
It was previously reported that cops in New York were growing concerned that Tekashi 6ix9ine is at the heart of an escalating East Coast-West Coast "Rap War" that could eventually turn violent.
TMZ approached the "GUMMO" rapper as he was being escorted out of a bulletproof SUV, the reporter asking him to comment on the nature of the rumors (of a Bi-Coastal rivalry). Tekashi responded by laughing off NYPD's claims. His belief is that law enforcement is essentially scared of his influence in the streets. "I feel like they scared of me," he told TMZ.
The TMZ reporter then asked him to comment on the Alec Baldwin debacle over a prime parking spot smack in the middle of Manhattan, to which Tekashi agreed, you must defend your "real estate" with violence if necessary.
Concerns over a "Bi-Coastal rap feud" stem from real-life hostility between Tekashi's camp and Elliot Grainge's California based label 10k Projects. Numerous "physical" altercations between both factions have taken place with both feet firmly planted on the ground. 6ix9ine was supposed to dine with Elliot Grainge after his arraignment but turned away at the very last minute, sparking an altercation outside the restaurant involving both their entourages.
